Having completed my Elderbrook Chronicles over Summer, I’ve done a course on how to pitch to publishers. Also hired my first sensitivity reader, who advised on my handling of the three sexes in Elderbrook. I heeded the advice.
Deep in so[u]litude, I’m revisiting manuscripts that lay dormant for decades of recording, jobs or shows. One is a surrealist novella Madame Alchemier, music of which is on our second CD Alexandria.
Congratulations to Andrea Pavleka, one of my dearest childhood friends, for winning this year’s prestigious Peter Carey Short Story Award for her beautiful tale, ‘That Golden Hour’, to be published in the Spring edition of Meanjin. Discover more about Andrea here . She’s truly a national treasure.
